GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 2
    Good Friday.  Remembering Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross, an act of ultimate love for a sinful world. Many churches will have observances.

SATURDAY, APRIL 3
    Morning, Upward Trails ministry hike in the Beacon Rock area in southwest Washington. Participants will meet up at Sams Walker Day Use Picnic Area near Stevenson, Wash., and will drive about 35 miles to the Doetsch Ranch trail to explore mysterious old chimney ruins. Hikers will then go past an old pond, around the base of Beacon Rock to explore some old tunnels at the base, then hike to the top and back.  About 5 miles total. 503-668-8950 or upwardtrails.org
    10 a.m. to noon, Drive-through Easter remembrance, parking lot of Bethany Baptist Church, 4545 N.W. Kaiser Blvd., Beaverton 97229.  Eight booths will highlight the Easter story, and handouts will be given to those attending, including something for children. Free admission. 503-645-2106.

    Couples Conference with Shane and Phyllis Womack, first of three consecutive days, Cannon Beach Conference Center.  Theme is “Solomon, Sex and Marriage,”  a focus on The Song of Solomon and how it relates to marriage. Shane Womack was the senior pastor of Knott Avenue Christian Church in Anaheim, Calif. from 1998 to June 2015 and teaching astor at La Mirada  (Calif.) Christian Church from 2015  to 2018.
