A ceremonial groundbreaking is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 3, for The Salvation Army Vancouver (Wash.) Corps’ new Community Resource Center at 1500 N.E. 112th Ave.

In planning for more than four years, the nearly 9,000 square-foot facility is intended to consolidate programs onto the 112th Avenue campus. Robertson & Olson Construction and Wilson Architects, along with a Salvation Army design team, have developed a plan for constructing the facility.

Westby Associates, Inc. have been consultants in planning and fundraising, providing leadership, resource development, strategic services, and general counsel through the project’s campaign.

As of press time, only $170,000 was left to be raised to build the $5.7 million structure debt-free. Refreshments will be served at the ceremony.
