SALEM — According to organizers, David’s Tent Oregon 2018, Sept. 27-29, is a statewide call to the praying Church in Oregon to come to the State Capitol Mall here “and petition the Lord for His mercy and manifest presence to come and fall upon our state.”
Named after the tabernacle of King David in ancient Israel, David’s Tent has been an annual event in Oregon for several years, drawing Oregonians to pray together for 24 hours a day over multiple days in a tent outside the Capitol. But this year the event is partnering with a movement called Tent America, as similar tents will be raised at every state capitol throughout the U.S. as well as at many colleges, all operating simultaneously on the same weekend.
“This is a never-before-heard-of event — and much needed for our country,” said Jim Moore, director of the Salem House of Prayer. “What a wonderful thing the Lord is doing. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event. Plan on coming and staying for the entire weekend if possible. Bring your children to witness something historic and God- ordained.”
David’s Tent runs from 6 p.m. Sept. 27 through 10 p.m. Sept. 29. For details, go to www.davidstentoregon.orgwww.salemhouseofprayer.org or www.awakenthedawn.org/tent-america/
