Bilingual, multicultural event slated for Portland

PORTLAND — Billed as the “biggest, multi-cultural, bilingual Christian event in the Northwest,” Conquest 2019 will take place at the Oregon Convention Center here from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.

The one-day event is designed as a follow-up to — but is also patterned after — Compassion to Action, a four-day evangelistic event held last September at the convention center and spearheaded by Chris Overstreet.  The new event, however, will be offered in both English and Spanish and is led by a team coordinated by Casa Del Padre (Father’s House) International church of Portland, pastored by Victor Alvarizares, and other interested churches.

Planners hope up to 5,000 will attend. The day will include times of worship and teaching, and an afternoon break during which attenders will go out and share the gospel with the public and invite them back for an evening of “worship, good news, healing and celebration.”

Admission is $5. To register, go to Conquest2019.org
