Billboards promote return to gridiron

NEWBERG — The word is out: After a 46-year hiatus, football is back at George Fox University.

The Bruins are set to kick off NCAA Division III play Saturday, Sept. 6, against Arizona Christian — another start-up program — and George Fox is making sure Oregon is aware of that fact with a billboard campaign expected to generate 15 million impressions by the fall.
With 16 of its “George Fox Football … It Begins” billboards scattered alongside busy highways and freeways throughout the state — including in McMinnville, Roseburg, Portland, Seaside, Troutdale and college football hotbeds Eugene and Corvallis — George Fox is conducting a full-on blitz to let Oregonians know they have another college football team to root for.
