HILLSBORO — For a second consecutive year, a major summertime evangelistic event will be held at Hillsboro Stadium.
Portland-based evangelist Jose Zayas recently announced that on Sunday, Aug. 11, he will again hold Good News Today, a free-admission outreach starting at 5 p.m.
In addition to a message from Zayas, the event will feature music by Crowder, Phil Wickham, Andy Mineo and Sarah Reeves. This is Wickham’s second consecutive year on the program.
The event is a collaborative effort among local churches and businesses, including Chick-fil-A Tan-asbourne, Northwest Events and Interstate Special Events.
Zayas spent seven years on staff with Portland-based international evangelist Luis Palau, before launching his own organization in 2001. He also is lead pastor at 26 West Church in Hillsboro.
As an evangelist, Zayas has spent most of his time in outreaches throughout the United States, but held the first Good News Today event in Hillsboro last August, drawing about 6,000 people. He noted prior to last year’s inaugural event that churches in Hillsboro had for several years hosted united prayer gatherings throughout the city, with hundreds of Christians asking God to do something great in this area.
More information about the August event, including downloadable print and video media for churches and other promotional material, can be found at www.goodnewstoday.world.
Printed prayer or invitation cards also are offered at no cost by email to Loni Marlia at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Those who support the effort by Zayas and his team are encouraged to get involved in praying, promoting, training, giving and volunteering, and by indicating their interest by sending an email to email@example.com
