Thousands expected at Hillsboro stadium outreach

HILLSBORO — An estimated 6,000 people came to Hillsboro Stadium a year ago this month for the first Good News Today outreach by Portland-based evangelist Jose Zayas, and expectations are for another big crowd when the event’s second run takes place Sunday, Aug. 11.

The free-admission event starts at 5 p.m., and, in addition to a message from Zayas, will feature music by Crowder, Phil Wickham, Andy Mineo and Sarah Reeves.  This is Wickham’s second consecutive year on the program.

The stadium outreach is a collaborative effort among local churches and businesses, including Chick-fil-A Tanasbourne, North-west Events and Interstate Special Events.

Zayas spent seven years on staff with Portland-based international evangelist Luis Palau before launching his own organization in 2001.  He also is lead pastor at 26 West Church in Hillsboro.

The stadium is at 4450 N.E. Century Blvd. For more information on the event, and on opportunities available to volunteers, go to www.goodnewstoday.world
